The Victor Pinchuk Foundation Commenced Selection Of Candidates To Study: In The World’s Top 200 Universities Under The “WorldWideStudies” Programme

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation invites potential candidates to take part in a selection process under the programme “WorldWideStudies”. The first 20-30 programme participants will go to study abroad already in 2010. The Foundation will give grants to young Ukrainians aged 35 and under who wish to get a Master’s degree in the world’s top universities in the fields of agriculture, environment and ecology, law and public administration. The grants will be used primarily to cover tuition fees, books and medical insurance.

Recommended schools to get the master’s degree are the top 200 universities rated the best by QS-Times Higher Education.

Victor Pinchuk: “Today Ukraine needs a new generation of professionals. The issue is particularly critical for the fields that are vital for the long term development of the country and its readiness to meet the global challenges of the future. These have to be people able to combine modern knowledge and the best world’s practice with a sincere desire to serve their country. The “WorldWideStudies” project is developed to support such people in particular.”

The participants shall be selected by a special independent Selection panel through an open nationwide competition. To receive the grant, potential candidates should choose the Master’s Degree program independently, go through the application process as per University requirements, and further explain to the WorldWideStudies Selection panel how he/she plans to apply the acquired knowledge in Ukraine.

The grant amount shall be specified for each individual case based on the student’s needs and merit. Most grants shall cover up to 60% of the total amount required but not more than USD 50.000 for the overall period of study. Students will have to cover the rest of the expenses with their own funds or via sponsorship.

According to the Programme Regulations, the students should make a commitment to return to Ukraine upon graduation, and work in the chosen field of study for at least 5 years.

As the enrolment process in the universities throughout the world is a time-consuming procedure that might take up to a year and a half or even two years, Victor Pinchuk Foundation invites today all those who are interested to join the programme as a participant or a partner.

On the 22th of June, the “WorldWideStudies” programme official website worldwidestudies.org was launched. The visitors can find there information on the competition conditions, recommendations as to the relevant Master’s programmes and their host countries, as well as general data regarding any specifics of the education in these counties. An online application form is also available there.
