The Winners of the Stipend Program Zavtra.ua of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation Made Another Step Towards Their Dream

Yesterday, on the 31st of January, an awarding ceremony for the winners of the stipend program ZAVTRA.UA was held. The event took place at the base of the Antonov Science and Technical Complex, in the hangar where the biggest airplane in the world AN-225 Mriia is maintained.

In the awarding ceremony for the winners of the stipend program of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation ZAVTRA.UA, took part: the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Program, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yaroslav Yatskiv, the NASA astronaut Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper who was the first Ukrainian female who spent over 13 hours in the open space, the worldwide known Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho, Victor Ponchuk, advisor to the President of Ukraine Oleg Rybachuk, the first astronaut of the independent Ukraine Leonid Kadeniuk, Ukrainian writer Andriy Kurkov and the chief engineer of the flight-test base of Antonov ANTC Olexandre Donets.

Each of the honorable guests greeted the winners who had submitted scientific works in the following fields: "Chemistry. Physics and Astronomy"; "Engineering, Energy and Electronics"; "History, Philosophy. Culture and Art, Literature and Language", "Sciences on Earth. Materials Sciences, Mining and Metallurgy",  "Sociology and Psychology. Pedagogy and Education. Political Sciences and International Relations. Law and State Governance", "Mathematics and Mechanics. Informatics and Computing Technics", "Medicine, Biology, Physiology, Biochemistry. Agricultural Sciences" and "Transport, Architecture and Construction. Economics and Management".

The founder of the stipend program ZAVTRA.UA Victor Pinchuk said, "our goal is obviously integration of the new generation into the society, business and politics".

An outstanding and spectacular awarding ceremony has become one of the unforgettable moments in the life of the winners. During one evening, they visited inside the biggest plane in the world AN-225 Mriia, became the stars of the awarding ceremony at which special guests Paulo Coelho and Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper greeted them as well as the leading Ukrainian scientists, politicians and writers. When discussing with the Ukrainian students, the American astronaut emphasized that the only way to success is to "learn and work hard".

When addressing to the happy winners, Paulo Coelho said: "Do you see this huge airplane? Every one of you is like one of its details, and Ukraine is the metal bird itself, and you have to understand: this dream will take off only when each of you does all his possible".

The winners of the program are senior students of Ukrainian universities that participated and won in the nation-wide selection comprising a competition of the students' scientific works that were evaluated by independent professional experts and individual contest procedures.

As the result, 201 students from the following Universities won in the competition:

Donetsk National university (Donetsk);

Kyiv Shevchenko National University (Kyiv);

National Agrarian University (Kyiv);

National University "Kyiv Mohyla Academy" (Kyiv);

National Technical University "Kyiv Politechnical Institute" (Kyiv);

Zhukovsky National Aerospace University "Kharkiv Aviation Institute" (Kharkiv);

National Mining University (Dnipropetrovsk);

National Metallurgy Academy of Ukraine (Dnipropetrovsk);

Dnipropetrovsk National University (Dnipropetrovsk);

National University "Lviv Poliechnika" (Lviv);

I.Franko Lviv National university (Lviv);

National University "Ostroh Academy" (Ostroh);

I. Mechnikov Odessa National University (Odessa);

Sevastopol National Technical University (Sevastopol).

During 2007, the scholars of the program Zavtra.ua will be getting a stipend of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation amounting to UAH 6,000 per year (UAH 500 per month). The Victor Pinchuk Foundation also plans to provide them with a range of additional opportunities for individual development and to facilitate employment in promising fields after graduation. In particular, support for the scholars' participation in scientific conferences and short-term internship and grants for scientific work are planned as well as creation of an information and resource centre that will be functioning as a data base of the young talents of Ukraine, creation on the base of the Foundation of an informal association for scientific and thematic meetings etc.

Venice, Italy, 19 April 2024 - The Victor Pinchuk Foundation and the PinchukArtCentre present an official collateral event of the 60th International Art Exhibition — La Biennale di Venezia. Entitled From Ukraine: Dare to Dream, when the world is in constant fear, the exhibition opened at the Palazzo Contarini Polignac in Venice on 18 April 2024 and is open until 1 August 2024.

State-of-the-art rehabilitation centre for wounded soldiers RECOVERY opened in Poltava

From now on, the innovative rehabilitation centre for the military RECOVERY will operate in Poltava. This is the 12th centre of the all-Ukrainian network founded by Victor and Olena Pinchuk to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It will provide free and evidence-based rehabilitation services to 2,000 servicemen and women annually.

Another branch of the innovative rehabilitation centre RECOVERY, which has been providing free assistance to wounded soldiers since April 2023, has been opened in Odesa. From now on, more than 1,500 defenders of Ukraine will be able to recover here every year.
