The Victor Pinchuk Foundation Announced the 9 Grantees of the WorldWideStudies Program

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation announced 9 winners of the 8th competition of the WorldWideStudies (WWS) scholarship programme. They will receive grants for studying at Master's programs in the 200 world best universities. The grantees will also join the WWS community – a group of professionals capable to become a driving force for the transformation of Ukraine.

The chosen grant holders will continue their education in the following fields which are especially important for further Ukraine’s development: agriculture, aerospace engineering, alternative energies, public administration, public law, environment and ecology.

The winners will start their education in the upcoming autumn in Germany, Italy, Spain, UK, and USA. The Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s obligatory requirement to all grant holders is to return to Ukraine and work in their chosen field of study for at least 5 years upon graduation.

The grantees were selected by an independent jury in an open nationwide competition. This year jury members were: WWS alumni, representatives of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, American Councils for International Education, French Embassy, Kyiv School of Economics, Ministry of Education, Sayenko Kharenko and Arzinger Law Companies, etc.

Since 2009, 94 WWS grant holders have studied at the 55 world best universities in 17 countries. 3 of them are current members of Ukrainian Parliament, more than 30 grantees implement new standards in business on senior and top management positions, 15 grant holders work at state bodies and international organizations, others lead their own companies and NGOs or continue their scientific work.

The WorldWideStudies is an educational program of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation aimed at fostering a new generation of Ukrainian professional elites. The program offers support to citizens aged under 35 years old to get Master’s degree in the best universities of the world in the fields that the Victor Pinchuk Foundation prioritizes for the further development of Ukraine, namely: agriculture, environment and ecology, public law, public administration, alternative energies and aerospace engineering.

Our goal is to form a group of professionals capable of becoming a factor of positive changes. Youth will become the driving force for transforming the country and ensuring its sustainable development. We expand global exchange of knowledge, practices and best experiences that translate into tangible results for Ukraine and the world.

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation is an international, private and non-partisan philanthropic foundation based in Ukraine. It was established in 2006 by businessman and public figure Victor Pinchuk. Its goal is to empower the young generation to change their country and the world. To achieve this, projects have been developed and partnerships have been built in Ukraine and worldwide for a decade. Since 2006, over 125 million USD were invested into projects to transform Ukraine.

The projects of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation include, among others: the all-Ukrainian network of neonatal Centres Cradles of Hope, the largest private scholarship programme in Ukraine, Zavtra.UA, the WorldWideStudies scholarship programme for Ukrainian students studying abroad, and the centre for contemporary art PinchukArtCentre, the largest art centre in Ukraine and the region, giving access to the inspiration of contemporary art free of charge to inspire new thinking. The foundation supports the international network YES (Yalta European Strategy), founded in 2004 by Victor Pinchuk, the largest non-government platform in Ukraine and the region to foster Ukraine’s European and global integration.

The foundation supports a crowdfunding platform to foster giving in Ukrainian society, the Philanthropic Marketplace. The Foundation is a member of the European Foundation centre and the Ukrainian Grantmakers Forum. It cooperates with the Clinton Global Initiative, the Atlantic Council, the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, and other nongovernmental organizations.

Innovative military rehabilitation centre of the RECOVERY national network opens its doors in Dnipro region

The innovative rehabilitation centre for wounded Ukrainian soldiers has opened in the Dnipro region under the umbrella of the RECOVERY national network. This is the fifth rehabilitation centre of the RECOVERY project being implemented by Victor and Olena Pinchuk. Created on the site of a state medical institution, this centre will provide quality and free rehabilitation care to more than 1,700 Ukrainian defenders every year. Rehabilitation centres of the RECOVERY national network are already operating in Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Kyiv, and Odesa. This year, 10 from the 12 RECOVERY centres will open across Ukraine, enabling soldiers from different regions to have rehabilitation closer to home, near their families.

The RECOVERY innovative rehabilitation centre for wounded soldiers has opened its doors in Kyiv. Built from scratch on the site of a public hospital, the Centre meets the highest international standards of inclusion: wide corridors and doorways, sanitary and hygienic areas for patients with limited mobility. The Centre is fitted with the cutting-edge equipment. The RECOVERY project founded by Victor and Olena Pinchuk helps Ukrainian wounded soldiers recover to the highest standards of rehabilitation.
