The 3rd “YOU Camp – Youth, Opportunities, Unity” Summer Camp organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s Zavtra.UA Scholarship Programme With Support of Coca-Cola Foundation is Opened

On July 16, 2019 the 3^rd “YOU Camp – Youth, Opportunities, Unity” summer camp, organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s Zavtra.UA scholarship programme with support of Coca-Cola Foundation, has been opened for Ukrainian students. 100 students – 50 from temporarily transferred universities from the occupied territories of the Eastern Ukraine, 50 from universities of other regions – will come together to develop projects geared toward social integration of youth in Ukrainian.

The official opening ceremony included the addresses of the Deputy Press Officer of the Education and Culture Department of U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Ilona Aleksandrova, Editor-in-chief of ICTV News Service, Host of "Fakty" Program Olena Frolyak, Director of National Programs Department of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation Svitlana Grytsenko, Director General of Coca-Cola Ukraine Kamran Iskenderov, MP of Ukraine Mustafa Nayem, Program Manager of the American House Tetyana Strelchenko and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Oleksandr Yarema.

YOU Camp will provide students with practical skills to develop and implement projects. They will also receive expert and mentor support as well as networking opportunities. Students will learn how to gather data and process information, to develop an effective business plan, to raise funds and to present the projects to clients and public.

During five days students will develop projects in ecology (water stewardship; waste management and recycling; renewable energy and energy conservation; ecosocial enterprise creating), gender equality and women empowerment (battling gender inequality in the workplace; encouraging women political participation and leadership; fighting gender-based violence; reclaiming sexual and reproductive rights), and social innovation and civil society (healthcare; education; economics; civil society).

YOU Camp continues in the tradition of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s successful cooperation with the Coca-Cola Foundation. In 2013-2015, the Climate Change Camp was organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation with the support of the Coca-Cola Foundation and gave Zavtra.UA scholarship holders the opportunity to raise awareness to environmental problems and provide incentives to address them. In 2018, the Coca-Cola Foundation supported the 2^nd YOU Camp.

The goal of the Zavtra.UA programme for the past 13 years has been to create a new generation of change makers: a generation with excellent education and skills, with mastery of the best international practices and ideas; a generation that will think and feel differently, and so be able to make an important contribution to building the country. The program has been fulfilling the mission of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation to empower new generations to become the change-makers of tomorrow since 2006.
