Scholarship holders of Zavtra.UA and WorldWideStudies programs took part in the 10th Yalta Annual Meeting
Engaging Ukrainian youth in the global debate within the Yalta Annual Meetings is another area of focus of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation. This year, for the fifth time, the Foundation organized participation of 30 Zavtra.UA and WorldWideStudies scholarship holders at the 10th Yalta Annual Meeting, taking place on 19-21 September in the historic Livadia Palace. The young scholars were selected through an open competition from more than 1,500 candidates from all over Ukraine. During the YES Forum they met with key speakers and participants and developed suggestions for the future of Ukraine and Wider Europe.
Among the speakers who met the scholars, shared their experiences and gave advice were: Gen. David H. Petraeus (US Army, Retired), Director, Central Intelligence Agency (2011–2012); Lamberto Zannier, Secretary General, Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe; Michio Kaku, physicist and futurist; Martin Wolf, Chief Economics Commentator, The Financial Times; Lawrence H. Summers, Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government; Jack Andraka, Inventor, Scientist and Cancer Researcher, Intel ISEF Grand Award Winner (2012); Bret Stephens, Deputy Editorial Page Editor (International), Foreign Affairs Columnist, The Wall Street Journal; Cui Liru, Professor, Senior Advisor, President (2005–2013), China Institute of Contemporary International Relations; Radosław Sikorski, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Poland; Petro Poroshenko, Member of the Parliament of Ukraine; Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine (2012); Geoffrey R. Pyatt, the United States Ambassador to Ukraine, and many others.
