Victor Pinchuk Foundation to start annual competition under Zavtra.UA Scholarship Program on October 1

On October 1, 2013, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation starts its 8th annual all-Ukrainian competition of the "Zavtra.UA" Scholarship Program. Submission of documents and online registration is open at www.zavtra.in.ua until October 25, 2013.

Zavtra.UA scholarship holders are selected annually in an open nationwide competition among full-time students of the 3-6 year from the universities of the 4th level of accreditation and program partner universities. The selection criteria are: academic excellence, leadership qualities, communication skills and creativity.

Over 7 years of program existence more than 2,000 students became scholarship holders. Today the program covers all Ukrainian regions, and the number of Zavtra.UA official partner universities totals 84.

Zavtra.UA scholarship holders receive a monthly stipend of UAH 942, which allows them to concentrate on the pursuit of academic excellence. The program also provides them with additional opportunities for professional and personal development and networking. Additionally, young scholars take part in Zavtra.UA Youth Forum, Annual Meetings of YES, and Public Lectures featuring leading figures from business, politics and culture; they engage in other projects of the Foundation and PinchukArtCentre.

Since program launch young scholars have been offered an opportunity to meet such prominent personalities as 9th president of the World Bank James Wolfensohn; EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (1999-2009) and Secretary General of NATO (1995-1999) Javier Solana; former Vice-Chancellor of Germany Joschka Fischer; 42nd U.S. President Bill Clinton; President of Israel Shimon Peres; Prime Minister of Great Britain (1997-2007) Tony Blair; Prime Minister of Great Britain (2007-2010) Gordon Brown; 65th U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell; Director of the International Monetary Fund (2007-2011) Dominique Strauss-Kahn; 7th Secretary-General of the United Nations (1997-2006) General Kofi Annan; Nobel peace Prize winner in 2006 Muhammad Yunus; founder and chairman of the Virgin Group Richard Branson, and many others.
