Zavtra.UA scholarship holders conducted their first social campaign within the framework of “Let the heart beat” project

On November 19, 2011, Zavtra.UA scholarship winners conducted their first social campaign within the framework of the “Let the heart beat” project. The mission of the project is to prevent abortions and raise awareness of pregnant young girls on importance of saving unborn life. The project was developed and presented during the 4th Zavtra.UA Youth Forum that took place in Kyiv in May.

During the campaign, held in the premises of the “Dream Town” shopping centre in Kyiv, young scholars have been distributing leaflets about the benefits of motherhood, talking to young girls and held a drawing competition among preschool children. Fifteen young scholars and more than 30 young families with children of under school age took part in the event.

Tetiana Kovpak, project supervisor, says: "We are aware of the abortion problem among young people from inside and now it is an extremely important issue. This is a topic that is not discussed openly in our society, and that’s why young girls often do not know whom to turn to for support. With this project we hope to draw attention of the girls planning an abortion and stop them.”
