Pan-Ukrainian Agrarian Summer School-2010 for “ZAVTRA.UA” scholarship winners opens on 12 July

Project entitled "Pan-Ukrainian Agrarian Summer School-2010", aimed at the scholarship winners of the nationwide program "ZAVTRA.UA" of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, starts on 12 July. Twenty five students form the agrarian universities of Ukraine, studying in such fields as mechanics and power engineering, land management and cadastre, agronomy and agriculture management, will join the school. The project is supported by the agricultural holding "MRIA CENTRE" and Ternopil National Technical University.

During this seven-day interactive course, the students will visit the agricultural holding "MRIA CENTRE" (Ternopil Region, village of Vasylkivtsi) specialising in high quality agricultural produce and learn about the technologies applied by the company. Additionally, they will be able to attend a course of lectures on agronomy, enterprise management, customs clearance, land management and cadastre. They also will be given a number of practical tasks to consolidate new knowledge. The training course will be supervised by professionals from the field-specific universities and agricultural companies.

The main objective of the "Pan-Ukrainian Agrarian Summer School-2010" is to foster young specialists for the agricultural sector, improve their skills and also ecourage businesses to have students as their trainees with further job placement. Under this project, the students have a chance to gain practical knowledge and learn about the latest technologies of the agricultural industry.

The official summer school opening will be held on 12 July 2010 at 10:00 in room 79 of the main building of Ternopil National Technical University, 56 Ruska Street.

This project was developed and implemented for the first time in summer 2008 under the Program for supporting individual initiatives of the "ZAVTRA.UA" scholarship winners, backed by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and National Agricultural University of Ukraine. Twenty five students from the Ukrainian agricultural universities participated in the project then.
