The Victor Pinchuk Foundation Announced the 9 Grantees of the WorldWideStudies programme

The holders will continue their education in fields that are especially important for Ukraine’s development: agriculture, environment and ecology, engineering and technologies, public law, public administration and alternative energies.

The winners will start their education this autumn in the UK, Sweden, Hungary and the Netherlands. The Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s obligatory requirement for all grant recipients is to return to Ukraine and work in their speciality for at least 5 years following graduation.

The grantees were selected by an independent jury in an open nationwide competition. This year’s jury members were: WWS alumni, representatives of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Campus France Ukraine, Kyiv School of Economics, Sayenko Kharenko, ProZorro, British Council Ukraine, Arzinger Law Companies and other.

The names of the 2019 WorldWideStudies grantees were announced at the 12th Annual Youth Forum of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s scholarship programmes. WWS alumni Natalia Katser-Buchkovska, Oleksii Riabchyn and Aliona Shkrum presented greetings and handed out diplomas to this year’s grantees:

Bodnya Ievgeniia, Master of Philosophy in Public Policy at the University of Cambridge, UK

Klapushynskyi Dmytro, Master of Science in Accounting and Finance at the Lund University, Sweden.

Konopka Ihor, Master of Laws in International Human Rights Law at the Lund University, Sweden.

Kriuchok Mariia, Master of Science in Media and Communications (Data and Society) at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK.

Kuchma Ostap, Master of Science in Computational Social Science at the Linköping University, Sweden.

Lebid Maryna, Master of Public Administration at the Central European University, Hungary.

Nedvetskyi Danylo, Master of Laws in Peace, Justice and Development at the Leiden University, the Netherlands.

Shevchenko Pavlo, Master of Science in Transport Planning and Business Management at the Newcastle University, UK.

Slobodian Liliia, Master of Arts in Public Policy at the Central European University, Hungary.

Since 2009, 114 young Ukrainians have received WorldWideStudies programme grants and studied or are studying at the 57 world best universities in 17 countries. 3% of them are current members of Ukrainian Parliament, more than 52% grantees implement new standards in business on senior and top management positions, 15% grant holders work at state bodies and international organizations, others lead their own companies and NGOs or continue their scientific work.
