On May 15th, the application process ends for the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s WorldWideStudies scholarship grants to study at the world’s best universities

On May 15th, 2017, ends the eighth competition participants’ selection for the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s WorldWideStudies education program that has been enabling talented Ukrainian students and young professionals to receive grants for studying at Master's programs in the top 200 world universities since 2009. The program’s goal is to form a group of professionals capable to become a driving force for the transformation of Ukraine.

The submission of applications and online registration is open on the website worldwidestudies.org from 1 February through 15 May 2017.

Support is provided for applications for the following fields which are especially important for Ukraine’s development: agriculture, aerospace engineering, alternative energies, public administration, public law, environment and ecology. The Foundation may also consider grant applications for other fields, but potential candidates have to provide a convincing rationale to support studies in the chosen specialty.

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s obligatory requirement to all grant holders is to return to Ukraine and work in their chosen field of study for at least 5 years upon graduation.

Potential applicants for the WorldWideStudies program must meet the following criteria:

  • be citizens of Ukraine and under 35 on the date of enrolment in the university;
  • have a Bachelor or higher degree in the field required by the chosen foreign university and the Master’s program;
  • be admitted to the Master’s program of their chosen university outside of Ukraine (formally certified) and be ready to start education in the autumn of 2017;
  • have a clear plan for applying the acquired knowledge and skills in Ukraine;
  • be committed to work in Ukraine in the specialty acquired.

The most successful candidates will get grants from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, selected by an independent jury in an open nationwide competition. Potential candidates have to have been accepted for their chosen Master’s program and to present to the WorldWideStudies jury with their vision how to apply the knowledge acquired upon their return to Ukraine.

The grants will be used primarily to cover university tuition fees, books and medical insurance. The grant size will be determined for each individual case based on personal needs and merit. Most grants will cover up to 60% of the total amount required, but not more than USD 30.000 for the overall period of study (1-2 years). Students will have to cover the rest of the expenses with personal funds or additional scholarships.

Applicants who have been enrolled to the University of Cambridge (UK), University of Pittsburgh School of Law (USA), Faculty of Agriculture at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel) or the Department of Politics at the University of York (UK) will be eligible to get the rest of financing from the charity foundations supporting these universities. This option is available thanks to joint funding agreements for studies under the WorldWideStudies program between the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and these universities. More information on these partnerships and on funding conditions is available on the WorldWideStudies official website, in section “Partners”.

Detailed information on participation in the competition is available on the WorldWideStudies web page: worldwidestudies.org
