Victor Pinchuk Foundation ends application process for WorldWideStudies program scholarships on May 15

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation stops accepting applications for competition under the WorldWideStudies program 2012 on May 15. Under this program aimed at fostering a new generation of Ukrainian professional elite, the foundation will award the winners of the competition - talented Ukrainians under the age of 35 to pursue a Master’s degree at one of the world’s best universities.

Submission of applications and online-registration is open on the website www.worldwidestudies.org until 15 May 2012.

This year the Foundation will first of all support candidates applying for the following fields of study: agriculture, environment and ecology, law, public administration, alternative energies and aerospace engineering. The Foundation will also consider applications from other fields of study provided that the applicants present their argumentation that the chosen field of study is expedient enough to be supported.

In March 2012 the WorldWideStudies program of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation came into an agreement with the British Friends of the Hebrew University - a national charity dedicated to supporting and promoting the Hebrew University of Jerusalem - to enhance scholarships available for applicants from Ukraine, who wish to study agriculture at the Hebrew University. Students who applied to the Hebrew University to study at the Faculty of Agriculture will be able to get the rest of financing from the BFHU after they meet the conditions set by WorldWideStudies.

Earlier, the WorldWideStudies had already signed similar agreements with the Cambridge Overseas Trust, which supports the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom), and Center for International Legal Education that provides scholarships for students of the University of Pittsburgh (USA).

Over the past two years since this program was launched, 36 young people have been awarded grants. Currently 10 winners have returned toUkraineand started working in their respective areas; 26 grant winners continue their studies at universities around the world:USA,Great Britain,Sweden,Denmark, theNetherlands,France,GermanyandMalta.

Overall, since launch of the project, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation has allocated UAH 7 470 235.00 for the WWS program.
