The Victor Pinchuk Foundation ended application process for WorldWideStudies program scholarships

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation has stopped accepting applications for competition under the WorldWideStudies program in 2011. The program, under which the Victor Pinchuk Foundation provides scholarships to young Ukrainians to receive Master's degrees at the world’s best 200 universities, is aimed at fostering a new generation of Ukrainian professional elite. This is the second year of the competition and this time the Foundation received 90 applications in the following areas: agriculture, environment and ecology, law and public administration.

The next stage of the competition encompasses interviews of the contestants with members of jury, which will be held from 30 May to 3 June 2011 in Kiev. The jury members include representatives from business circles, professional associations and education councils.

Results announcement and signing of the Declaration by the winners will take place at the end of June.

Currently 17 winners of the first WorldWideStudies selective competition are studying in the Universities of the USA (3 students), Great Britain (8 students), Sweden (3 students), Switzerland (2 students) and Germany (1 student) pursuing such subject areas as ecology and protection of environment (5 students), law (9 students), public administration (2 students) and sports management (1 student). These finalists were selected from more than 260 potential candidates. Overall, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation allocated UAH 3 086 265 for the WWS pilot project in 2010.
