The Victor Pinchuk Foundation grants $30 million to support foreign education program for Ukrainian students

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation starts a World Studies program to support 500 Ukrainian students in receiving their master's degree in the best universities of the world. For that purpose the Foundation is to draw $30 000 000 within five years. So was announced during the annual meeting of Clinton Global Initiative in New York (USA).

The aim of the program is to contribute to the formation of modern professional Ukrainian elites. Presently, many Ukrainian spheres of life demand the present-day specialists, which are in command of advanced world technologies and are able to reform this life spheres.

The new Foundation's program focuses on spheres critical to the future development of Ukraine: agriculture, law, environmental protection and natural resource management, international relations and engineering. The program will support its participants on the different levels including tuition payment and expenses, related to students' staying abroad.

"I want to reveal the world education space without any borderlines for the young and talented Ukrainians. I want to help young, sharp-minded people to become the world-level specialists. I want them to come back to Ukraine and turn in into a more competitive and modern country", said Victor Pinchuk, a businessman and a founder of the charity Foundation.

The program implementation concerns partnership with education programs in the USA, France, Germany and Great Britain, also comprising direct agreements with most reputed universities of the world. The first students are to start their studies already in the year 2009.
