The 7th Edition of the PinchukArtCentre Prize Application Procedure is Open from September 1

The PinchukArtCentre launches the application procedure for the 7th edition of the PinchukArtCentre Prize, the first nationwide award in contemporary art for young Ukrainian artists aged 35 or younger. The applications are admitted on prize.pinchukartcentre.org from September 1 until October 30, 2021.

20 shortlisted artists will be chosen by the selection committee in December 2021. They will be commissioned to create new works on view in exhibition at the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv. The winners of the Prize will be announced at the award ceremony in December 2022. The Main Prize in the amount of UAH 250 000 and two Special Prizes equal to UAH 60 000 each will be awarded by international jury. The winners will also receive financial support for internships, further education, residences or new production. A Public Choice winner will be determined by votes of the visitors attending the exhibition of the shortlisted artists and will be awarded UAH 25 000.

The winner of the Main Prize will be automatically included in the shortlist of the Future Generation Art Prize 2023 – an international art prize for young artists.

Björn Geldhof, artistic director of the PinchukArtCentre: “PinchukArtCentre Prize provides a unique insight into the emerging and dynamic Ukrainian art scene. New creative energy can finally reach its audience. We are certain that this year we will see many brand new names and unique artistic projects that will influence both the local and international art scene.”

The PinchukArtCentre Prize is a biannual prize awarded to the best Ukrainian artists aged 18-35, funded in 2008 by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation. More than 10 years the Prize has been supporting the future generation of Ukrainian artists by discovering new names and introducing them to Ukrainian public and the international community. Empowering the young generation of artists, giving them a platform, and creating an international hub of contemporary art in Kyiv is at the core of PinchukArtCentre’s work.

Individual artists, as well as groups of artists with Ukrainian citizenship working with any media are allowed to participate in the competition. One artist (or a group of artists) may submit from 3 to 7 works. The applications should be submitted according to the PinchukArtCentre Prize Rules.
