Roundtable on “Dreams to Keep: The past and future of Ukraine’s culture in the context of ideology, tradition and revolution” to take place at the PinchukArtCentre on 27November 2010

The PinchukArtCentre invites all friends of contemporary art to join a roundtable Dreams to Keep: Past and future of Ukraine culture in context of ideology, tradition and revolution”. The event will take place on Saturday, 27 November 2010, at 15:00 on the 6th floor of the art centre.

The roundtable panel will feature Volodymyr Kuznetsov, artist and PinchukArtCentre Prize nominee; Vitaly Moroz, manager of new media programs at “Internews-Ukraine”; Vitaly Portnikov, chief editor of the television channel TBi; Maria Khrushchak, art critic; Denis Ivanov, director of the company “Arthouse Traffic” and Bjorn Geldhof, artistic manager of the PinchukArtCentre.

The participants will debate issues of revolution and tradition in the sphere of culture seen from the perspective of politics, new media, business and art. The roundtable will address questions like: Does tradition define revolution? Is the depth of revolution determined by its relation to the past, to tradition? Does revolution mean to break with the past?
