Winners of "Art-Summer in Venice with PinchukArtCentre" quiz named

During two weeks PinchukArtCentre jointly with channels "Novy" and "M1", "Hit FM" radio-station, "Fakty and Komentari" newspaper held a quiz "Art-Summer in Venice with PinchukArtCentre". The goal of the Quiz is to give Ukrainians interested in contemporary art an opportunity to visit 52nd Venice Biennale - the most prestigious exhibition of contemporary art.

 On June 17 at 13:00 in PinchukArtCentre 19 quiz winners visiting Venice August 16, 2007, are awarded. The winners are: Boiko Maryna, Dmytruk Natalia, Moskalenko Maksym, Gorbach Mariana, Shemchuk Kateryna, Khudyakov Mykyta, Gorbkova Stafania, Mikhova Ganna, Iryna Chalian, Sapozhkova Ellina, Daniyelyan Artur, Vdovenko Halyna, Asaulenko Oksana, Zaporozhets Dmytro, Penkovskaya Tetyana, Kyrylyuk Volodymyr, Udovenko Tetyana, Ladvyshchenko Lidiya, Marchenko Lyudmyla, and they come from different cities of Ukraine: Kharkiv, Lviv, Cherkassy, Mykolaiv, Kyiv and Khmelnytskiy.

The Winners of the quiz will travel to Venice with a professional curator to visit the major part of 52nd Venice Biennale located in Arsenal as well as the national pavilions of different countries located at the central alley of the Jardini Park. The Winners will also visit the Ukrainian pavilion represented by PinchukArtCentre. Furthermore, the winners will also have an opportunity to walk around the old part of Venice.

The Ukrainian Pavilion exhibition titled "A Poem about an Inland Sea" showcases the works produced by 8 artists from Ukraine, Germany, and the USA: Sergey Bratkov, Alexander Hnyliytskiy, Lesya Zayats, Boris Mikhailov, Jurgen Teller, Mark Tichner, Sam Taylor-Wood, and Dzine.

Even before the opening, the Ukrainian Pavilion exhibition had been ranked among the five top events at the Biennale. The President of the Ukrainian Academy of Fine Arts, Andriy Chebykin said during the official opening of the Ukrainian Pavilion that the Venice Biennale of 2007 "has unified the state support and private initiative, which is a very positive fact facilitating the development of contemporary art in Ukraine."

The 52nd Venice Biennale will be open for visitors till November 22. The winner-country is to be determined on the last week of the exhibition.
