More than 100 leading world companies to take part in the Ukrainian Luncheon
Within the framework of World Economic Forum is Davos, "EastOne" investment and consulting company and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation holds a luncheon "Ukraine. What`s next?". This year the main accent is the global challenges Ukraine faces as a part of global economic and geopolitical space.
Lucnheon is held on January, 25th at Morosani Schweizerhof Hotel. The key speakers are President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, 9th President of The World Bank James Wolfensohn, Director of Institute of International Economy Fred Bergstein, as well as Vice-President and Chief Managing Director of PepsiCo International Michael White.
Among the participants of Lunch-Conference are a co-founder of Microsoft Corporation and President of Vulcan Inc. Paul Allen, President of TNK-BP Robert Dadly, Head of Observation Committee of RENOVA Group of Companies Viktor Vekselberg, Head of the Board of Directors of OJSC "Severstal'" Alexey Mordashov.
More than 100 representatives of the world leading companies, politicians and public leaders from the USA, the Russian Federation, France, Germany, Italy and other countries are to participate in the luncheon. Held for three years already luncheon dedicated to issues of economic and political development of Ukraine become the event of tradition within the Davos Forum. Every year the representatives of world business and political elite take part in discussion of problems related to economy, energy preparedness, investment climate and modern political scene of Ukraine.
Speakers of Ukrainian luncheons in the previos years were President of EBRR Jean Lemierre, European Commissioner on Expansion Issues Oli Renn, businessman and philanthropist George Soros, ex-president of Poland Alexander Kvasniewski, the present Head of International Monetary Fund Dominique Strauss-Can, President of Latvia Vaira Vike-Fraiberga. From the Ukrainian side, the Lunch-Conference was attended by Viktor Yanukovitch, Aresiy Yatseniuk, Anatoliy Hritsenko, Nikolai Azarov, Oleg Rybachiuk.
The Victor Pinchuk Foundation hosts a live Internet broadcasting of th luncheon on the Foundation's Web-site. The Victor Pinchuk Foundation also hosts Davos Philanthropic Roundtable on January, 24th. The event is held in the Conference Hall of DerbyHotel Davos in a free discussion format.
The event aims to speed-up a progress of philanthropy in Ukraine, bring about new philanthropists and social projects within the country. The main topics of Roundtable Discussion are achieving the long-term effects of philanthropic activities, results' estimation, philanthropic organizations and authorities relation, progress of philanthropic activities in the "rising economies" including Central and Western Europe.
