The Victor Pinchuk Foundation donated portable ventilators to the MOAS-Ukraine Foundation

As part of the joint charitable initiative Ukraine Relief Fund, founded by Victor and Elena Pinchuk and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Eric and Wendy Schmidt and Schmidt Futures, Robert F. Smith and Vista Equity Partners, the Minderoo Foundation (Andrew and Nicola Forrest), Bill Ford, and the General Atlantic Foundation, two portable ventilators with a total value of 1,654,500 UAH were purchased and installed in the MOAS-Ukraine Foundation’s emergency response vehicles.

The MOAS-Ukraine Charitable Foundation is the Ukrainian branch of the non-governmental charitable organization Migrant Offshore Aid Station, which has many years of experience working in crisis regions around the world. From the very first days of the full-scale Russian invasion, the MOAS-Ukraine team has been ensuring access to medical care in frontline communities, providing pre-hospital care to the injured at transfer points and stabilization stations, and evacuating the wounded from the combat zone to specialized civilian hospitals.

MOAS specialists provided assistance to nearly 90,000 patients from the Donetsk-Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Southern, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions, 25% of whom required respiratory support during transport. Years of intense, nonstop work have led to significant wear and tear on the medical equipment in the ambulances, which substantially reduces its effectiveness and makes it difficult to provide an adequate level of care.

In addition, evacuation crews have recently faced an increasing need to transport children in critical condition, whose emergency care requires specialized equipment designed specifically for this category of patients.

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation, which has been systematically helping to save newborns for over 20 years as part of the “Cradles of Hope” charity project, supported the evacuation of the youngest patients from conflict zones. Two ambulances equipped with new ventilators are already operating near the front lines, giving a chance at life and a future to those who need protection the most.

Thanks to the Ukraine Relief Fund’s initiative, between 2022 and October 2026, 324 units of medical and other equipment, along with related consumables, were purchased for medical facilities providing care to newborns, with a total value of 71.6 million hryvnias. Specifically, 67 medical facilities across Ukraine received 167 neonatal warming systems, while 14 facilities in frontline regions received sets of transport incubators and transport ventilators to safely transport newborns and provide care in shelters.
