Victor Pinchuk Foundation has bought infant respiratory support system for Chernihiv City Maternity Hospital

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation has bought an Infant Flow SiPAP non-invasive ventilation system worth UAH 590,000 for the needs of the intensive care unit at the Chernihiv City Maternity Hospital.

The Chernihiv City Maternity Hospital became the first partner centre of the Cradles of Hope project which opened in June 2006. The Victor Pinchuk Foundation's total investment in Chernihiv's Cradles of Hope has amounted to UAH 1.92 million over the years of partnership (2006-2021). The Foundation systemically supports the partner centre by annually allocating funds for repair of the equipment and consumables to ensure its uninterrupted operation and inviting the maternity hospital's specialists to all educational events offered by the Cradles of Hope charity project.

Since the beginning of Russia's military aggression against our country, Chernihiv Region has been the epicentre of hostilities, facing constant ground and air attacks. However, nearly the entire maternity hospital team remained at their workplace and heroically continued to perform their professional duty, providing medical care to pregnant women, women in labour and newborn babies from across Chernihiv Region.

"During the two months of the war, 168 babies were born in the hospital and 27 babies were treated in the neonatal intensive care unit," says its head Oleksandr Hoshko. "Sometimes we had to work in extremely difficult conditions, save the babies whose lives depended on medical equipment in the absence of electricity, but we coped. We deeply appreciate the help and are grateful to every benefactor for such important support in these difficult times for our country."
