The Victor Pinchuk Foundation has covered the cost of the medical equipment repair for the newborn intensive care unit of the Odessa Oblast Clinic Hospital’s Perinatal Centre

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation has covered the cost of the medical equipment repair for Cradles of Hope partner centre in the Odessa Perinatal Centre, operating within the Odessa Oblast Clinic Hospital. More specifically, 9 temperature sensors in open and closed type incubators and breathing circuits in artificial lungs have been replaced. The overall cost of the maintenance is UAH 66 843.

The Odessa Perinatal Centre that hosts 5000 deliveries every year assumes all cases of extragenital pathology with pregnant women of the region, and among other, is specialized in performance of deliveries from HIV positive women. The Cradles of Hope partner centre based on the Odessa Oblast clinic Hospital was launched in 2007. Surgery room and three intensive care beds in the newborn intensive care unit were equipped for an amount of UAH 1 600 000, funded by the Foundation.

Overall during the period of partnership with the Odessa Oblast Clinic hospital under the Cradles of Hope project (2007-2016), 48 693 babies have been born in the centre, including 4 820 newborn who received help in the intensive care unit. According to the specialists of the centre, it has become possible to save 4 408 babies, including 1258 who were saved thanks to the medical equipment provided by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
