Victor Pinchuk Foundation financed repair of NICU compressors in Uzhgorod city hospital

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation covered the cost of repairs of the ALV compressors in the NICU Uzhgorod city hospital. After the emergency maintenance and replacement of worn parts, the problem was eliminated and compressors continue to perform, providing respiratory support to young patients.

Partneship of Uzhgorod city maternity hospital and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation started in December 2010, when neonatal centre"Cradles of Hope"was opened in the hospital. For the first time a maternity hospital in the Transcarpathian region received top class medical equipment, making the hospital the only institution in the region with Level III accreditation.

The hospital’s NICU received from the Foundation critical medical and computer equipment worth UAH 1 274 048. Over the period of 2011-2014 the hospital received financial help for repairs and purchased additional equipment and supplies for the amount of UAH 60 480.

Over the period of collaboration with Uzhgorod city maternity hospital in the framework of the "Cradles of Hope" (2011-2014), 15 598 babies were born in the neonatal center. 819 newborns (including 87 with extremely low birth weight - up to 1 kg) received medical care in the intensive care unit. According to experts of the center, 734 babies were saved thanks, among other factors, to the equipment supplied by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
