A newborn weighing 610 grams was nursed in Ternopil

Medical workers of Ternopil perinatal Mother and Child Centre helped to save a little boy born in the 5th month of pregnancy on 18 April, weighing 610 grams. On 13 May the infant was disconnected from the ALV machine as the boy started breathing by himself and gained 140 grams.

Vladyslav Tomchuk-Yalovskyi was the tiniest newborn the Mother and Child Centre ever took care of. It all was possible thanks to the equipment installed in December 2009 by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation under its “Cradles of Hope” program.

Overall, since the program launch in 2006, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation opened 20 centres: in Chernihiv, Volodymyrets, Lutsk, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv (2 centres), Chernivtsi, Bakhchysarai, Izmail, Odesa, Simferopol, Donetsk, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, Ternopil and Sumy.

Find out more about Vladyslav’s story in the “Media about us”/Articles section.
