Illya Chichkan and Mihara Yasuhiro to represent Ukraine at the 53rd International Art Exposition, 2009 Venice Biennale

Damien Hirst Requiem at the PinchukArtCentre in Ukraine
The PinchukArtCentre (Kyiv, Ukraine) is pleased to announce Requiem, a major retrospective of over 100 works dating from 1990 to 2008, by Damien Hirst. Requiem opens on 25th April and continues through 20th September 2009

This figure was recorded during the exhibition of the British artist Sam Taylor-Wood and group project of the contemporary Russian artists 21 RUSSIA. The exposition ended on 1 March 2009.

Names of 20 shortlisted nominees for the PinchukArtCentre Prize have been announced
On 25 February 2009 the names of the 20 shortlisted nominees for the PinchukArtCentre Prize, a nationwide prize in contemporary art for young Ukrainian artists, have been announced.

Damien Hirst donated his painting to the Cradles of Hope Programme implemented in Ukraine by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation
The £300 000 proceeds from selling the «Dark Days» by Damien Hirst will be handed over to the Cradles of Hope, a programme developed by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and aimed at providing aid to newborns in Ukraine.
