The Victor Pinchuk Foundation provided assistance to “Cradles of Hope” in Dnipro

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation purchased components for mechanical ventilators for the neonatal intensive care unit at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Medical Center for Family Health, with a total value of 227,346 hryvnias. The donation included 5 sensors for humidifiers and 2 low-flow ventilators.

The Foundation systematically supports “Cradles of Hope” centers, helping to ensure the uninterrupted operation of medical equipment and, consequently, the continuity of care for newborns. Special attention is given to medical facilities operating near the front lines or receiving a significant number of internally displaced persons. Thanks to this, medical teams can continue to provide life-saving care to children even under the most challenging conditions.

The “Cradle of Hope” center, part of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Medical Center for Family Health, has been operating since 2012. The Foundation allocated 4.2 million hryvnias for its establishment in the neonatal intensive care unit, and 61 units of modern, high-tech diagnostic, laboratory, respiratory, monitoring, and other medical equipment were purchased to care for premature babies and infants with complex medical conditions.

Amid Russia’s full-scale military aggression, the facility found itself in close proximity to the combat zone and has been providing 24/7 medical care to women and children from occupied and dangerous regions. Over the four years of the war, more than 10,000 babies have been born at the facility, 679 of whom required prolonged treatment in the intensive care unit. During the war, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, in collaboration with its partner Ukraine Relief Fund, donated a transport incubator, a transport ventilator, three infant warming systems, three high-capacity charging stations, and three convector heaters to this center, with a total value of 1.94 million UAH. In addition, medical equipment was repaired, and spare parts worth 600,000 UAH were purchased.

Ivan Anikin, head of the facility’s neonatal unit: “We sincerely thank the Victor Pinchuk Foundation for its long-standing support, especially during the war. Thanks to this latest assistance, we have upgraded our neonatal intensive care equipment. The oxygen mixers make the stabilization of premature infants more precise and predictable.”

In total, during the period of cooperation with the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Medical Center for Family Health as part of the “Cradles of Hope” project (2012–2025), 46,433 infants were born at the facility, and 2,792 newborns received medical care in the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care. According to specialists at the center, the lives of 2,263 babies were saved thanks to medical equipment donated by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
