The Victor Pinchuk Foundation, in collaboration with the Sviatoslav Vakarchuk Charitable Foundation, has donated twenty heating systems for newborns to maternity hospitals

Twenty heating systems for newborns IHC-2000 CosyTerm2 (manufactured by Inspiration Healthcare Limited, UK) have been delivered to the neonatal intensive care units and post-intensive care units of ten maternity hospitals in Vinnytsia, Lutsk, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Rivne, Sumy and Kharkiv.

The assistance was provided by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in cooperation with the Sviatoslav Vakarchuk Foundation as part of the Ukraine Relief Fund initiative.

Heat loss in newborns, and especially in premature infants, is an extremely dangerous factor for the process of nursing and preserving their life and health. Due to the war in Ukraine, doctors often have to save babies in very difficult conditions. The temperature in the premises, including medical shelters, does not always meet the standards required to provide care to this difficult category of patients. Keeping preterm babies warm is a real challenge for our heroic doctors, so the Victor Pinchuk Foundation together with its partners could not stay away from this problem.

The INS-2000 CosyTherm2 patient heating system includes two baby mattresses, a temperature sensor and a touchscreen control unit. The system is designed to replenish heat loss in newborns automatically and, if necessary, allows you to warm two babies at the same time.

“Newborn babies, especially those with low body weight, are prone to cooling, so it is extremely important for them to maintain a stable body temperature," says Yulia Tresnytska, head of the neonatal intensive care unit at the Sumy Clinical Perinatal Centre of the Blessed Virgin Mary. "To prevent hypothermia during treatment, transportation and nursing, we use various sources of radiant heat, which is especially important in the current difficult situation.”

In January 2023, the Ukraine Is You project and Ukraine House hosted a concert in support of Ukraine at the World Economic Forum in Davos, which was held in the joint space of the Ukraine Is You project and Ukraine House. This event was made possible by the commitment of the Ukraine Relief Fund, together with the Sviatoslav Vakarchuk Charitable Foundation, to provide humanitarian support worth over $100,000 to internally displaced Ukrainians affected by the Russian attack.

The Ukraine Relief Fund is a joint philanthropic initiative established in 2022 by Victor and Olena Pinchuk and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Eric and Wendy Schmidt and Schmidt Futures, Robert F. Smith and Vista Equity Partners, Andrew and Nicola Forrest's Minderoo Foundation, Bill Ford and the General Atlantic Foundation.

The Ukraine Is You project was organised by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and the PinchukArtCentre in cooperation with the Office of the President of Ukraine at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2023. The project included an exhibition and a series of discussion panels discussing Russia's attack on Ukraine, Russian war crimes, and potential opportunities to protect and restore life and freedom.

People of the Future, Sviatoslav Vakarchuk's Charitable Foundation, has been operating since 2014 and aims to develop charity, provide direct humanitarian and medical assistance, and help Ukraine's defenders.
