8 frontline Ukrainian hospitals received transport incubators with ventilators from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation

The Viktor Pinchuk Foundation continues its systematic support of the medical front. 8 frontline medical facilities that provide medical assistance to newborns who are in critical conditions have received sets of transport incubators with transport ventilators from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation under support of the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center. The project with a total cost of UAH 8,190,047.00 was implemented as part of the joint charity initiative Ukraine Relief Fund, founded by Victor and Olena Pinchuk and the Viktor Pinchuk Foundation, Eric and Wendy Schmidt and Schmidt Futures, Robert F. Smith and Vista Equity Partners, Minderoo Foundation Andrew and By Nikoli Forrest, Bill Ford and the General Atlantic Foundation.

Since the beginning of the Russian millitary aggression against Ukraine, our doctors and nurses continue heroically fulfilingl their duties and provide medical assistance to the Ukrainian citizens. Maternity hospitals and children's hospitals work in difficult wartime conditions, helping women to give birth and babies born prematurely or in critical condition to survive and grow up healthy. The main factors in the successful weaning of premature babies are the maintenance of body temperature and the provision of respiratory support with the help of artificial lung ventilation. Such children need special care and attention from doctors, because even a slight decrease in body temperature can pose a serious danger to their lives. During air raids, maternity hospitals and children's hospitals are forced to urgently evacuate patients to shelters. Safe transportation of children in critical conditions is possible only with the help of a mobile transport incubator with a built-in ventilator, which maintains the necessary temperature parameters, humidity indicators and ensures the patient's respiratory function.

8 sets of transport incubators of the well-known Japanese manufacturer ATOM with transport ventilators of American production were received by: Zaporizhia Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, Zaporizhia Regional Perinatal Center, Mykolaiv Maternity Hospital #2, Mykolaiv Maternity Hospital #3, Regional Perinatal Center of the Kharkiv Regional Clinical Hospital, Kharkiv Regional clinical perinatal center, Sumy regional clinical perinatal center and Sumy clinical maternity hospital of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In the near future, such equipment will be handed over to 5 more medical institutions in Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa regions and Kyiv.

"The Victor Pinchuk Foundation has been supporting the development of the field of motherhood and childhood in our country for many years as part of its own national project to build a network of centers for the newborns’ care "Cradles of Hope", - says Iryna Kostin, head of the neonatal intensive care unit of the Sumy Regional Clinical Perinatal Center. - And even in these extremely difficult times of military aggression for Ukraine, the Foundation, together with its respected partners, did not forget about children who are born in institutions located in the war zone. The modern medical equipment we received today is a guarantee of saving the lives of our little patients, the future of our country."
