Victor Pinchuk Foundation has announced names of 5 Grantees of WorldWideStudies programme to study abroad
The Victor Pinchuk Foundation has announced the names of 5 winners in the 12th WorldWideStudies programme competition who will receive grants to study under master programmes at the world’s best universities. The grant holders will also join the WorldWideStudies community: a group of professionals changing Ukraine already now.
The winners will start studying this autumn at universities in the UK, France, the USA and the Netherlands. The Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s obligatory requirement for all grant recipients is a commitment to return to Ukraine and work in their speciality for at least 5 years following graduation.
The grantees were selected by a special independent jury in an open nationwide competition. This year’s jury members were: WWS alumni, representatives of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, French, German and US embassies, EducationUSA network, law firms Sayenko Kharenko and Arzinger, the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption , the Kyiv School of Economics etc
The names of the grantees were announced during the official award ceremony. They were greeted with victory by Anna Novosad, minister of education and science of Ukraine (2019-2020), and Oleksandr Starodubtsev, deputy head of the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption. Svitlana Hrytsenko, director of educational programmes at the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, handed out diplomas to this year’s grantees:
Oksana Hetman, MPhil in Architecture and Urban Studies – Sustainability and environmental design at Cambridge University.
Viktor Karvatsky, Master of International Energy programme at Sciences Po in Paris.
Volodymyr Lotushko, Master of Governance and Leadership in European Public Health at Maastricht University.
Viktoria Simakova, High Tech High Graduate School of Education, Master programme for Educational Leadership and Administration.
Alina Chanysheva, Master programme in Law at Cambridge University.
Since 2009, 121 young Ukrainians have received WorldWideStudies programme grants and studied or are studying at 58 world’s best universities. 5% of them are current members of Ukrainian Parliament, 55% grantees implement new standards in business on senior and top management positions, 12% grant holders work at state bodies and international organisations, and others lead their own companies and NGOs or continue their academic work.
