On February 18, the Community of WorldWideStudies (WWS) Alumni met with Victor Pinchuk, the founder of the WWS scholarship program. Alumni shared their achievements and their involvement in civic and social activities.Victor Pinchuk said as founder of the program he was proud of what the grantees do to change Ukraine and called upon them to get involved even more.
Participants discussed how to address crucial challenges in Ukraine today. The meeting was off the record to allow an open conversation.
WorldWideStudies, launched in 2009, has up to now provided 87 scholarships for Ukrainians to study at the world’s best universities. Grantees commit to returning to Ukraine to apply their knowledge for at least five years to transforming their country.
The alumni community includes change makers in all areas of society with diverse expertise and impact. The alumni maintain relationships within the community, creating a network of change makers in politics, government, international organizations and NGOs in Ukraine.
