Major Ukrainian Orthodox Churches are being supportive of the ANTIAIDS projects in Ukraine

According to Elena Franchuk's ANTIAIDS Foundation, representatives of Major Ukrainian Orthodox Churches are being supportive of the ANTIAIDS projects in Ukraine.

Representatives of Moscow and Kyiv Patriarchates are concerned about the AIDS epidemic scale and believe that in order to efficiently curb AIDS one should consolidate efforts of all organizations, which are able to drastically change the AIDS awareness of the community.

At a press briefing with journalists and the ANTIAIDS Foundation representatives, the Archbishop of Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Moscow Patriarchate, vicar of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Pavel said: "If we do not tackle the AIDS issue now, the epidemic situation in our country will soon look quite differently." Pereyaslav-Khmelnitskiy Archbishop of Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Kyiv Patriarchate, Dmitry pointed out that the AIDS epidemic issue had been considered at All-Ukrainian Church Council and then it was always on the agenda of the clergymen of all confessions members of the Council.
