PinchukArtCentre presents “Collection Platform 2: Circulation”, a show of selected works by the leading international and Ukrainian contemporary artists

PinchukArtCentre presents Collection Platform 2: Circulation, a completely renewed exhibition of selected works from the collection representing leading international and Ukrainian contemporary artists. The show located on the 5th floor of the art centre will be on display from October 29 till May, 2011.

The exhibition includes the works by Banksy, Maurizio Cattelan, Chuck Close, Olafur Eliasson, Andreas Gursky, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Oleg Kulik, Liza Lou, Boris Mikhailov, Takashi Murakami, Richard Phillips, Marc Quinn, Thomas Ruff, Sam Taylor-Wood, Oleg Tistol, Fred Tomaselli, Vasiliy Tsagolov.

Works like Lenin on Roller blades by Banksy, Self-Portrait by Chuk Close, Fred Tomaselli Doppelganger Effect, Liza Lou Self-Portrait, Andreas Gursky’s Hamm Bergwerke and other will be shown in Ukraine for the first time.

Changing twice a year the collection platform is highlighting leading artists of our time together with upcoming new positions in the exhibition platform. Together with central Ukrainian artists as part of the Collection Platform this program allows a new perspective on contemporary art and especially on the collection. It is a dynamic model of interaction between the collection and new workgroups focusing on their artistic value.

A new viewing area’s directly connected to selected works allow the audience a deeper understanding of artists and their works. The idea is to slow down the speed of viewing and by giving more information allow the audience to acquire more knowledge, competence and experience as integral part of the new education offensive.

Open hours: Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 until 21:00.

Admission is free.

Especially for all admirers of contemporary art and also for those who didn’t have a chance to see the retrospective exhibition “Requiem” by Damien Hirst, the PinchukArtCentre will stay open till 3 a.m.

During the summer 55 volunteers from all over Ukraine worked in such places as Gomolsha Forests National Park in Kharkiv region, Hust castle in Transcarpathian region, Bilgorod-Dnistrovskii fortress in Odessa oblast and Svirzh castle of Liviv region.
