On 14 April, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation is to Present New Heroes of Ukraine at the “Pride Of The Country 2009” Award Ceremony

The annual award ceremony honouring the laureates of the national Prize "Pride Of The Country" will take place on Wednesday, 14 April 2010. For the seventh year running, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in partnership with the Novy Channel and Fakty newspaper present to the Ukrainian nation its new heroes. Traditionally, the award ceremony will be held on the stage of the National Ivan Franko Drama Theatre in Kyiv.

A recorded TV version of the event will be broadcasted on 24 April at 22:10 on the Novy Channel.

The Pride Of The Country Prize is established to celebrate uncommon deeds of common people whose strength of spirit and big heart can make the impossible possible, giving us reasons to feel proud to live in the same country with them. This event sets a positive example for the society, making Ukrainians believe in their own strength, respect themselves and feel proud for their homeland. Since 2004, over one hundred Ukrainians from all over the country have become the Prize laureates. Each year, over four million people watch the recorded version of the award ceremony - it is nearly one in ten Ukrainians.
