Ukrainian Lunch in Davos gathers high profile political and business figures

At the occasion of the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, Interpipe and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation will host the traditional Davos Ukrainian Lunch on Friday January 26th at 12.45 (Morosani Schweizerhof Hotel - Davos Platz).

The lunch aims to promote Ukraine internationally and to foster debate and exchange between Ukrainian and worldwide leaders. The title of this third Davos Ukrainian Lunch is: "Where is Ukraine heading? - In depth discussion of the economic, energy and geopolitical challenges facing the Nation and the world".

The event will be a unique opportunity for discussion with high-level speakers and WEF participants about the current political and economic situation and perspectives of Ukraine, about the energy issue, and Ukraine's relationships with the European Union, Russia and the World Trade Organization.

The key-speakers will be the following:
  • Viktor Yanukovich, Ukrainian Prime Minister
  • Vaira Vike-Freiberga, President of Latvia
  • Olli Rehn, EU Commissioner for Enlargement
  • Alexander Kwasniewski, Former President of Poland, Member of the Board of YES
  • Arseny Yatseniuk, First Deputy Chief of the Ukrainian Presidential Secretariat
  • German Gref, RF Minister of Economic Development and Trade
  • George Soros
  • Andrei Kostin, Chairman of the Bank for Foreign Trade
  • Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Former French Minister of Economy, Industry and Finance

President Clinton, who had to cancel his appearance in Davos, will deliver a video address during the lunch.

About 200 participants are expected.

At the occasion of this lunch, President Kwasniewski, on behalf of the Yalta European Strategy (YES), will release exclusively the results of a new survey conducted in Europe by TNS-Sofres about Ukraine joining the EU.

The conference is moderated by Victor Pinchuk, Chairman of the Board of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, and Founder of Interpipe Corporation, the first Ukrainian company-participant of the World Economic Forum.

Psychological aspects of military rehabilitation: overview of the Recover together seminar

A two-day seminar Recover together was held in Kyiv as part of the educational programme of the Victor Pinchuk and Olena Pinchuk national project RECOVERY. More than 150 participants and 30 top speakers from Ukraine, Israel, Germany and the United States gathered for a professional discussion on the psychological aspects of multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams and their interaction with military personnel.

Victor Pinchuk Foundation opened the Russian War Crimes Exhibition at The Dodd Center for Human Rights at the Connecticut University, USA

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation and PinchukArtCentre, in partnership with the Office of the President of Ukraine opened the Russian War Crimes exhibition during the Human Rights Summit at The Dodd Center for Human Rights at the University of Connecticut (USA). The project shows photos taken from all over Ukraine since the start of Russia’s brutal and unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Even so, it only addresses a fraction of the committed crimes. It makes the Western audience witness the stories of torture, executions, and bombardments committed by Russians against Ukraine’s service members and civilians.

Victor Pinchuk has accepted the Thomas J. Dodd Prize in International Justice and Human Rights on behalf of the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center

October 26, 2023. -- The Ukrainian businessman and philanthropist Victor Pinchuk has accepted the Thomas J. Dodd Prize in International Justice and Human Rights on behalf of the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center.  The University of Connecticut awards the Thomas J. Dodd Prize in International Justice and Human Rights biennially to an individual or group who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of international justice and global human rights.
