Lynette Yiadom-Boakye Wins Future Generation Art Prize

London's Lynette Yiadom-Boakye has been announced as the main prize winner of the Future Generation Art Prize, established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation. An international award for artists under the age of 35, the prize comes with $100,000 ($60,000 in cash and $40,000 toward the production of new work).

In a press release, the jury praised Yiadom-Boakye for her "extraordinary paintings where darkness and light are articulated together, recognizing the quality of the paintings and the social concerns that emerge from them." Yiadom-Boakye is the Future Generation Art Prize's second recipient; it was first awarded to Brazilian artist Mircea Nicolae in 2010.

Five special winners, each with a prize of $20,000 to fund artist-in-residency programs have also been announced: Jonathas de Andrade, Brazil; Marwa Arsanios, Lebanon; Micol Assael, Italy; Ahmet Ogut, Turkey; and Rayyane Tabet, Lebanon.

An exhibition of work the 15 shortlisted artists and six winners of the Future Generation Prize will be on view at the PinchukArtCentre, Kiev, until January 6.

The fifth mental health center of the national RETURNING network has opened in Rivne

A cozy and inclusive RETURNING (ukr. ПОВЕРНЕННЯ) mental health center has begun operating in Rivne — created for service members, veterans, and their families. This is already the fifth facility in the national network founded by Victor and Olena Pinchuk to support Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces.

A new mental health center for service members, veterans, and their families has opened in Kropyvnytskyi. This is the fourth facility of the all-Ukrainian RETURNING (ukr. The nationwide program to support talented young people, Zavtra.UA, aims to foster and strengthen the next generation of Ukraine's intellectual and business elite. The Foundation selects the most talented students of Ukraine and provides them with financial, expert and informational support.
