Shimon Peres: High technologies will lead the world out of the crisis

According to the President of Israel Shimon Peres, who addressed the participants of the 6th Yalta European Strategy Annual Meeting during his live TV broadcast, high technologies are to become a driving force in leading the world out of the crisis.

“Israel is emerging from crisis virtually without losses. We are building and developing”, he said, adding that the major factor for successful crisis management was development of high technologies. “Israel is a country of limited natural resources. We do not have lager fresh water reserves; we don’t have large territory like other countries. But we have innovations and intellect”, he underlined.

According to Shimon Peres, before crisis, Israel didn’t pay much attention to the advantages of new technologies. “But along with crisis came a new era – the era of high technologies. This is precisely what will become the major driving force in the post crisis world”.

From this point of view, as noted by the President of Israel, the crisis itself is a very good incentive for development. “When people are not happy with something, when they are dissatisfied – it forces them to act”, he said. According to his statement, it would be worthwhile for Ukraine to adopt the same approach to the crisis. “Crisis is an unstable situation. But it is not the end of the world. Lesson No1 – do not succumb to depression, look for the reasons for optimism, look for something that can be useful and look for the ways to employ this experience”.
