In frames of the "New Life" project, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation has provided equipment for Neonatal Centre "Cradles of Hope" in Poltava

Continuing implementation of the program “Cradles of Hope” within the framework of the government project “New Life”, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation has provided equipment for the 28th neonatal centre “Cradles of Hope” at the Sklifosovsky Poltava Regional Hospital.

The official opening that took place on December 27, 2012, was attended by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Vilkul, First Deputy Head of Presidential Administration of Ukraine Iryna Akimova, Head of the National Project “New Life” and Deputy Head of the Board of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation Valeriy Vakariuk.

In 2011 the Victor Pinchuk Foundation became a partner of the national project “New Life” initiated by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, and made a commitment to supply intensive care units for newborns with modern medical equipment, allocating for this purpose UAH 100 million.

Currently, the “Cradles of Hope” program of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation has become an integral part of 8 state perinatal centers opened under the project “New Life” in Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Simferopol and Poltava.

Opening the center in Poltava is a continuation of partnership of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation and the National Agency for Investment and Management of National Projects. The overall cost of the medical and computer equipment the Foundation handed over to the Intensive Care Department of Poltava Regional Perinatal Center
totals UAH 4 283 583. 78.

This is the second neonatal center that the Victor Pinchuk Foundation has equipped in Poltava. One of the first centers “Cradles of Hope” was opened at Poltava City Children's Hospital in autumn 2006. Over the period of 2006 - 2012, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation has provided this center with medical equipment and supplies for
the amount of UAH 1 223 867.

To date, 28 “Cradles of Hope” Neonatal Centers have been opened throughout Ukraine: in Chernihiv, Volodymyrets (Rivne region), Lutsk, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk (2 centers), Kyiv (3 centers), Chernivtsi, Bakhchysarai, Izmail, Odesa, Simferopol (2 centers), Donetsk, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolayiv, Ternopil, Sumy and Uzhgorod.

Since program launch, 187 040 infants have been born in partner hospitals, 31 798 of them were patients of the intensive care centers "Cradles of Hope". According to doctors, 15 648 babies were saved thanks, among other factors, to the equipment supplied by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

Total investment of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation into the "Cradles of Hope” since program launch amounts to UAH 86 343 882. 00 (including UAH 48 563 179. 90 spent on the joint project "New Life”).
