14 million people in Ukraine have watched the Paul McCartney concert

Despite of complex weather conditions in Kiev, Independence concert of sir Paul McCartney at The Independence Square and live broadcast in seven cities of Ukraine was visited by the record number of spectators in history of Ukraine. Despite of a thunder-storm and a downpour about 350 thousand people have come only at The Independence Square.

The Novy channel that broadcasted a telethon and a concert has received in the evening on June, 14th a unprecedented rating - 3,5, and the rating remained stable during three hours and a half. The share of a spectator audience accounted for 18,7 %. 13,5 million spectators have watched the broadcast.

A total of about 150 thousand people have seen Live broadcast at the central squares of large cities of Ukraine have. At the Square of Freedom in Kharkov has gathered about 80 thousand person, on the Theatrical Square in Odessa - about 20 thousand, as much - near the monument to Mickiewicz in Lvov, in Donetsk in park Scherbakova - about 15 thousand people. On the Festival mooring in Dnepropetrovsk - over 25 thousand people. In Sevastopol, where the concert has coincided with celebrating of the Day of city, about 50 thousand people have joined the translation. In Chernovtsy the concert has collected nearby 8 000 person.

Spectators from other cities of Ukraine became active participants of all-Ukraine marathon, dedicated to the concert. Because of the most complicated weather conditions communication with the satellite, which provided communication of Kiev with other cities, was extremely unstable. The team of a marathon had to conduct the broadcast in a mode of "alive imposition", in conditions of periodic switch-off of audio and video signal.

Despite of such critical conditions, inclusion of all cities was provided in full. Kharkov, where the weather was similar to Kiev, was put in the heaviest condition: the double storm front made inclusion practically impossible, and, nevertheless, Kharkov has appeared on air. At the same time worsening weather conditions have changed concert broadcasting plan - in particular, scheduled inclusion of cities during broadcasting has not turned out. During a concert Sir Paul McCartney has greeted «all cities of Ukraine which today are with us».
