Legal Clinics
In 2004 Victor Pinchuk and the Renaissance International Foundation launched a project centered on legal aid for Ukraine’s low-income population. Since 2006 the Victor Pinchuk Foundation has been backing this work. Its goals are the facilitation of legal protection for those of limited incomes, and an improvement in the higher legal education for young lawyers’ and lawyers in the country’s Law Departments.
The legal clinics are the University-based centers of free legal aid for protection of citizens’ rights and interests. There are 23 clinics in the Law Departments of 17 regions in Ukraine.
