Today, on July 10, 2018, the 2nd “YOU Camp – Youth, Opportunities, Unity” summer camp, organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s Zavtra.UA scholarship programme with support of Coca-Cola Foundation, has been opened for Ukrainian students. 100 students – 50 from temporarily transferred universities from the occupied territories of the Eastern Ukraine, 50 from universities of other regions – will come together to develop projects geared toward social integration of youth in Ukrainian.

The official opening ceremony included addresses of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Ukrainian Corporate Governance Academy Aivaras Abromavicius, Director of the British Council in Ukraine Simon Williams, Head of National Programs Department of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation Svitlana Grytsenko, Public Affair Director of the Coca-Cola Company in Ukraine Olesya Zhulynska, member of the Ukrainian Parliament Natalia Katser-Buchkovskaya, Deputy Head of the Mission of the US Embassy in Ukraine George Kent, Chairman of the Board of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation Benjamin Loring, Director of International and Investor Relations of System Capital Management (SCM) Jock Mendoza-Wilson, Attaché on Science and University Collaboration of the French Embassy in Ukraine Sylvain Rigollet, Executive Director of the Elena Pinchuk Foundation Olga Rudneva, Founder and Executive Director of the Transnational Education Group Alexa Chopivsky, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Dmytro Shymkiv and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Oleksandr Yarema.

YOU Camp will provide students with practical skills to develop and implement projects. They will also receive expert and mentor support as well as networking opportunities. Students will learn how to gather data and process information, to develop an effective business plan, to raise funds and to present the projects to clients and public.

During five days students will develop projects in the following areas: inclusion and empowerment of internally displaced people; boosting economies in their communities (small business, social entrepreneurship); ecology (water and waste management, green energy and eco social initiatives); civil society development; gender equality and women's empowerment; innovation and tech; public health, and others. The best initiatives will be supported financially by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation to be implemented in communities all over Ukraine.

YOU Camp continues in the tradition of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s successful cooperation with the Coca-Cola Foundation. In 2013-2015, the Zavtra.UA Climate Change Camp was organized by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation with the support of the Coca-Cola Foundation and gave Zavtra.UA scholarship holders the opportunity to draw attention to environmental problems and provide incentives to address them.

The goal of the Zavtra.UA programme for the last 12 years has been to create a new generation of change makers: a generation with excellent education and skills, with mastery of the best international practices and ideas; a generation that will think and feel differently, and therefore be able to make an important contribution to building a new country. The programme fulfils the Victor Pinchuk Foundation’s mission since 2006 to empower new generations to become the change makers of tomorrow.
