Victor Pinchuk Foundation invites Zavtra.UA scholarship holders to join project “Nature Reserve-2012”

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation invites Zavtra.UA scholarship holders to join the “Nature Reserve -2012” summer social project designed to improve ecological situation at the remarkable sites of cultural and historical significance, as well as to increase public awareness regarding the problems faced by historical and cultural heritage sites of Ukraine.

Young scholars will be cleaning up litter, removing plants that grow and ruin the remnants of the ancient buildings, and upgrading the areas around the sites. Additionally, the volunteers will be engaged in educational activities aimed at raising awareness both among local people and tourists about preservation and protection of historical and cultural heritage sites of our country.

The list of this year’s “Nature Reserve” projectsites include:

• Trostianets Dendrological Park, Sumy Region.

To participate in the project, please complete an application form and e-mail it to the coordinator of the selected project. Applications from Zavtra.UA scholarship holders only are accepted. Travel, accommodation and catering expenses are covered by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.  

The “Nature Reserve” project is being implemented for the fifth consecutive year.

In 2007-2011 the “Nature Reserve” project was implemented in the following locations:

• Pereyaslav National History and Ethnography Reserve, town of Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskii 
• Kamianets National History and Architecture Reserve, town of Kamianets-Podilskii
• NationalM.I.PyrogovHouseMuseum, city of Vinnytsia
• State History and Culture Reserve, town of Dubno
• Bilgorod-Dnistrovskii Fortress, a historical and architectural relic dated 13-15 century, town of Bilgorod-Dnistrovskii
• GomolshaForestsNational Park in Kharkiv region
• Hust castle in Transcarpathian region
• Svirzh castle of Liviv region
• Khortytsia National Reserve, Zaporizhzhia
• Sviati Hory (Holy Mountains) National Park in Donetsk Region
• Vishnivetskyi Palace in Ternopil Region
