The Victor Pinchuk Foundation purchased two lung ventilators for the Zaporizhzhya Regional Children's Hospital as part of the Ukraine Relief Fund charitable initiative

The Victor Pinchuk Foundation has purchased two VELA expert-class lung ventilators (manufactured by Vyaire, USA) worth UAH 1,777,860 for the intensive care unit at the Zaporizhzhya Regional Children's Hospital as part of the Ukraine Relief Fund, a joint charitable initiative established by Victor and Olena Pinchuk and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Eric and Wendy Schmidt and Schmidt Futures, Robert F. Smith and Vista Equity Partners, Andrew and Nicola Forrest's Minderoo Foundation, Bill Ford and the General Atlantic Foundation.

Located in close proximity to the front line, the hospital has been treating wounded children from Zaporizhzhya and Donetsk regions since the first days of Russia's full-scale aggression against our country. The hospital staff works 24/7 to save little Ukrainians who experienced the ordeal of war, loss and pain. Every day, its medical staff treats children with shrapnel and bullet wounds, burns, and severe injuries.

Recently, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation provided the Zaporizhzhya Regional Children's Hospital with a modern anaesthetic station to perform elective and urgent surgeries while the new lung ventilators will ensure high quality breathing support for children in post-surgery period.

"For many years, the Victor Pinchuk Foundation has been helping children's hospitals, maternity and perinatal centres in Ukraine by providing them with modern medical equipment, which is so precious in the time of war," says Ivan Anikin, head of the intensive care unit. "The important equipment donated by the Foundation will significantly improve children's care in our and neighbouring regions suffering from military aggression."
