The Victor Pinchuk Foundation handed expendables to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Kharkiv on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Cradles of Hope partner centre

On March 2, 2017, the Kharkiv Oblast Clinical Hospital’s Perinatal Centre that was established in 2012 with involvement of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation as part of its Cradles of Hope project, celebrates its 5th anniversary.

As a 5th anniversary gift to the Centre, the Foundation purchased flow sensors and generators for artificial lung ventilation, incubator filters and oxygen hoods of an overall value of UAH 68 257.99 to provide for an ongoing operation of the neonatal intensive care unit equipment.

Overall during the period of partnership (2012-2016) with the Kharkiv Oblast Clinical Hospital under the Cradles of Hope project, 10 468 babies have been born in the centre, including 1 202 newborn who received help in the intensive care unit. According to the specialists of the centre, it has become possible to save 1 040 babies (whereas 81 with extremely low weight between 500 and 999 gram at birth) also thanks to the medical equipment provided by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

The overall investment of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in the Kharkiv Oblast Clinical Hospital’s Perinatal Centre during the whole period of cooperation (2012 – 2017) has amounted to UAH 4 254 007 (including UAH 176 413 refurbishment works and purchase of expendables).
