Andrey L. Kostin

Born on September 21st, 1956, in Moscow.

In 1979, graduated with honors from the Moscow State University with a diploma in International Economics, also has a Ph.D. in Economics.

In 1979 through 1992, worked in the USSR Foreign Affairs Ministry: in 1979 to 1982 - in the USSR Consulate General in Australia, in 1985 to 1990 - in the USSR Embassy in Great Britain.

In 1992, having gained an in-depth expertise in international economy and finance, A.Kostin joined those who founded the Russian Investment and Finance Company (RIFK, in Russian acronyms), which was a very active securities and debt markets maker.

In 1993 to 1995, A. Kostin worked as the Deputy Head of Foreign Investment Department of the `Imperial` Bank.

In 1995, A. Kostin was elected First Deputy Chairman of the National Reserve Bank.

By a Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of October 18th, 1996, Andrey Kostin was appointed Chairman of Vnesheconombank. On October 14th, 1999, the President extended his mandate for a three-year period.

In 1998 and later in 2001, for his contribution to the economic development of Russia, A.Kostin was awarded Russian Government`s Honorary Diplomas.

In 1999, A. Kostin was presented with a state reward, Order of Honour, to pay credit to his foreign economic and international banking activities.

On June 10th, 2002 A. Kostin was appointed Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank for Foreign Trade.

Married, has a son.
