Pride of the Country

We award the “Pride of the Country” prize annually to Ukrainian citizens who have shown exceptional courage and commitment. In partnership with STB TV Channel and Fakty Newspaper the award ceremony is broadcasted nationwide.

By supporting this project we strive to bring extraordinary deeds of common people to nationwide recognition. For seven consecutive years the prize has been awarded for courageous acts or exemplary attitudes and ways of life. In a solemn ceremony, broadcasted nationwide, leading politicians, public figures and celebrities decorate the laureates.

The “Pride of the Country” prize is awarded in various categories, including Strength of Spirit, Doctor of the Year, Sense of Duty, Personal Achievement, Rare Talent and Family Story. Nominees are selected based on a presentation of candidates in Fakty newspaper. A Board consisting of renowned public figures, scholars, artists and journalists – Serhii Bubka, Semen Gluzman, Nina Matviyenko, Bohdan Stupka, Victor Pinchuk, Myroslav Popovych and Oleksandr Shvets – takes the final decision.
